Why there are different prices for laser vision correction surgery?
With iLASIK, you certainly do get what you pay for. As a rule, the lower the price, the older the technology used on your eyes. Better, safer technology does cost more.
iLASIK is a fully customised laser vision correction surgery where the surgery is totally personalised to your eyes as everyone's eyes are unique.
During iLASIK, we map your eye precisely and correct each eye differently based on the particular eye's own "map". This helps minimise halos and night vision ( a problem in the past but no longer), and gives you better vision compared to conventional LASIK. Conventional LASIK treats everyone's eyes based on the same prescription. So if you have a -4.50 prescription, your eyes will be treated as others whose eyes have the same prescription as you!
Our procedure is totally blade-free which typically costs more than traditional LASIK. You get bargain prices for some laser eye correction surgery because the service providers do not tell you that they are using a blade or microkeratome to create the corneal flap. Our IntraLase technology which creates the flap using full laser does cost more but it is also a lot more safe and recovery is faster! Surgeons who use laser-made flaps in LASIK cite studies that show patients have fewer flap complications, need fewer retreatments and have a greater likelihood of achieving 20/20 visual acuity or better.
